The sombero galaxy was first discovered in May 11, 1781, by the French astronomer Pierre Méchain, and was first imaged in 1929 by the Mount Wilson obsevatory. It's found 28 to 31 million light-years away in the constellation Virgo.

NGC 2841 was discovered on 9 March 1788 by German astronomer William Herschel and was first imaged in 2011 by Hubble. It's found 65 million light years away in the constellation Ursa Major.
